Are You Smarter Than A Freshman?
This was our first family activity at BYU. We were invited to dinner and a game show put on by the student members of AIChE. We were there to cheer on Dave as he and a few fellow professor's took on the very intelligent freshmen. I shouldn't say we, because Andrew stayed in Dave's office with his pillow, blanket and a fever to keep him company. It was a rather interesting activity. My favorite part of the show were the commercials. They had a lot of humorous dating advice, such as a guy sitting real close to a girl and him saying to her "So, I learned today in class that you need three things in order to cause combustion. How about I be the fuel. You be the air. Now all we need to do is make a spark." The questions ranged from "How fast do you need to be traveling in order to have a red light appear green?", to "Which American Idol contestant is this?" I also learned a few things. Such as, "What is NCMO?" (pronounced Nic-Moe)....Answer: Non-Committal-Make-Out. Seriously, what other University would come up with such a term? As for the winner...It was the Freshman. The Professor's were in the lead the whole game, but when it came time to wager on the final question the Professor in charge miscalculated. The final question was, "Name the tallest grass in the world." Both teams answered correctly naming "Bamboo". The classroom, of course, erupted in cheers when the totals were read off. It was a fun evening finished off by delicious BYU Creamery raspberry cream cheese ice cream.

That sounds like it would have been a lot of fun!

I haven't heard of NCMO, sounds like BYU for sure.
